The ABC Enforcement Division is responsible for seizing vehicles used in the illegal transportation of alcoholic beverages within the state. This series consists of all of the various forms used by the division personnel to document actions taken on seized vehicles. Included are Vehicle Seizure Forms used by an enforcement agent after a case has been made with a seized vehicle involved. The form records defendant's name, driver of vehicle, time and place of seizure, owner of vehicle, make and model, amount owed on vehicle, VIN number, tag number, appraised value, place where vehicle was stored, and a signature of agent. Also included are: Notices of Confiscated Vehicles used by the division to give public notice that a vehicle is seized and retained for confiscation; Seized Vehicle Appraisal Forms completed by three appraisers which establish a value for the seized vehicle so that bond can be made by the owner of the vehicle pending a court decision on confiscation; and Vehicle Release Forms used by the ABC Board to release a seized vehicle when cash payment is received or a bond for double the appraisal value of the vehicle is obtained. A copy of the Liquor Case History File (schedule S-54-90) is always attached to this series for reference purposes. Court orders may also be found in these records.
